OUR Generation has announced that two talented young musical groups from Donegal will be performing at ‘Vantastival’ next month.

Veridian (below) and Stainless Steel (main pic) are set to appear at the family-friendly music and campervan festival in Drogheda, County Louth.

    Donegal band, Veridian.

These young artists have participated in OUR Generation through their partnership with Donegal Youth Service. Their performances are part of the official festival lineup and represent the project’s commitment to supporting cross-border peacebuilding initiatives for young people in Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland.

OUR Generation is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) that focuses on ‘Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing’.

Sean McCluskey, the OUR Generation Youth Worker from Donegal Youth Service based in Drogheda, played a key role in securing this opportunity for young artists to showcase their talents at the festival.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for these young bands who are just starting out,” he said. “But it’s about more than just music. It’s about bringing young people together across borders, building peace and connection through creativity, giving young people a platform, as well as confidence and belief in themselves.”

The announcement follows Donegal Youth Service’s recent successful Party in the Park in Letterkenny, which was part of this year’s Earagail Arts Festival. Celebrating its 19th year, Party in the Park shares the same goal of creating a family-friendly event and providing a platform for young people, a cause OUR Generation has been proud to support in recent years.

Sean added: “We all know the power of music and the arts to unite people and provide young people with a space to be creative, express themselves, and have their voices heard. We are thrilled to give these young artists this opportunity and look forward to seeing and hearing them perform live.”

Vantastival will be held on September 19th-21st at Beaulieu House & Gardens in Drogheda, County Louth. For tickets and more information, visit: https://www.vantastival.com/tickets/
