Donegal/Derry based singer-songwriter Blathnaid O’Doherty is set to launch her highly anticipated debut single this Friday, July 25th.

Hailing from Strabane, Blathnaid is a well-known figure within the Donegal music community. She regularly performs at Clubeo in Leo’s Tavern, a showcase presented by Moya Brennan, and has graced stages at events like Electric Picnic and Letterkenny Pride in 2024.

Following a recent performance at the Sult festival in Gweedore, the 22-year-old artist has also been confirmed to return to Electric Picnic in 2025.

Fire Song is an evocative and captivating track that highlights O’Doherty’s songwriting prowess and guitar skills. Listen to a preview here:

The track opens with a compelling melodic guitar hook that immediately captures the listener’s attention. “Fire Song” explores themes of rejection and the emotional struggle of letting go, creating a deeply felt and universally relatable experience.

Currently an undergraduate student at North West Regional College, O’Doherty has recently completed her HND in Music and divides her time between Derry and Donegal.
