Tragically, a teenager has died following a road traffic collision in County Cork.
Irish police (Gardaí) responded to a report of a collision involving a car and a truck on Monday morning.
The incident took place at approximately 7:15 AM on the N71 road between Ballinhassig and Innishannon.
The car’s driver, a young man in his late teens, was declared dead at the location of the crash.
Currently, the road is closed off, and diversions are in effect.
Gardaí are requesting that any individuals who witnessed the collision come forward with information.
Specifically, Gardaí are appealing to any road users who were in the area between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM this morning and might have camera footage (including dashcam footage) to provide it to the investigating officers.
