Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Letterkenny will manage the new auto-enrolment state pension scheme scheduled to launch in January of next year.

The initiative will automatically enroll workers who aren’t currently enrolled in a pension scheme, earn over €20,000 annually, and are aged between 23 and 60.

The scheme involves contributions from employers and the state, alongside individual employee contributions, to each pension fund.

Specifically, for every €3 contributed by an employee, their employer will contribute an additional €3, and the State will add €1. This results in €7 being deposited into the employee’s pension account for every €3 contributed.

Donegal Deputy Charlie McConalogue has welcomed the scheme and its administration being based in Donegal.

“The Auto Enrolment Scheme, My Future Fund, is a game changer for employees in Donegal, and I’m pleased that employers are also receiving support,” he stated.

“This marks significant progress by Fianna Fáil in Government regarding an issue that has been discussed for numerous years. I’m happy to see My Future Fund progressing and look forward to collaborating with Minister Dara Calleary to ensure its efficient operation for both workers and employers in Donegal.”

“Last year, TCS in Letterkenny was chosen to oversee the state’s new automatic enrolment pension, representing a substantial advantage for both the company and the region. It is hoped that this contract will lead to the creation of additional jobs at TCS in Letterkenny in the coming years,” he added.
