Two Donegal groups are participating in Orbit 2025 this week. The event is a gathering of over 1,500 Girl Guides from across Ireland and internationally, taking place in County Kildare.
Twenty-one girls from Convoy and three from Raphoe joined the constellation-themed camp on Sunday. The week-long event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of leadership, friendship, and fun.

Participants, aged 10–17, are engaging in nine immersive activity zones. Activities range from robotics and first aid to African drumming, yoga, planetarium visits, and sustainability workshops, all designed to encourage confidence, creativity, and global awareness.
“Orbit 2025 is the product of passion, commitment, creativity, teamwork, and a shared belief in the power of Guiding from an incredible team of volunteers,” says Aisling Claffey, Chief Camp.
“With Orbit, we aimed to demonstrate that each girl shines uniquely, like stars in a galaxy. Together, we’ve created something expansive, beautiful, and full of potential. Orbit 2025 serves as a reminder that real impact is achieved through collaboration.”
This year’s camp includes Girl Guides from Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, India, Malta, New Zealand, Portugal, the United States, and the UK.
