Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, according to the PA news agency.

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are undergoing a rebuild after finishing a disappointing 15th in the Premier League and losing the Europa League final to Tottenham.

United’s struggling attack was a significant problem last season, and the club aims to bolster its forward line with the addition of a striker this summer. Sesko is reportedly a key target.

The 22-year-old Slovenia international has been on United’s radar for some time and is also attracting interest from Newcastle. Newcastle previously missed out on Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool and have uncertainty surrounding Alexander Isak’s future.

United also admire Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, but Sesko –valued around £70 million – is believed to be their primary target at this time.

Earlier in the summer, Amorim’s side considered Liam Delap, but the Ipswich striker preferred a move to Chelsea.

Manchester United are currently in the United States participating in the Premier League Summer Series and have already made two significant signings this summer.

Matheus Cunha arrived from Wolves for £62.5 million last month, followed by Bryan Mbeumo last week in a move that could reach £71 million after lengthy negotiations with Brentford.

Teenage wing-back Diego Leon has also joined United, with a deal agreed with Paraguayan side Cerro Porteno in January.

In terms of departures, Marcus Rashford has joined Barcelona on a season-long loan with an option to make the move permanent.

United are also looking to offload Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, and Tyrell Malacia. Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, and Jonny Evans (who has retired) all left at the end of their contracts.
