Kilmacrennan Celtic FC has increased security measures following multiple incidents of vandalism at the Leitir Pitch.

The pitch was temporarily closed last week for maintenance due to reported incidents at the new pitch itself, as well as along the walkway connecting the village to the astroturf field.

In response to these events, new surveillance cameras have been installed to monitor the area.

The club released the following statement: “The Kilmac Community Development Group and the club have dedicated considerable time and resources to create this facility for the well-being of everyone. It’s deeply disappointing to witness actions that damage this shared resource.”

“If you have observed any suspicious or concerning behavior, please get in touch. We will ensure this information is relayed to the Gardaí.”

“Please be aware that the new pitch is reserved exclusively for official club activities. *Informal usage, including casual games or jogging inside the fenced area, is prohibited.*”
