Met Éireann has issued another weather alert for Donegal as the sunny weekend approaches.

Expect high temperatures up to 27C on Saturday and Sunday.

A nationwide high temperature warning is in effect for Saturday from midday to 6am Sunday.

An additional Status Yellow warning is now in place for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Donegal, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, and the entire province of Connacht. This warning is valid from midday to 6pm on Sunday.

Forecasters caution about the potential risks of the hot weather, including heat stress and difficulties sleeping due to nighttime temperatures remaining around a mild 15C.

The dry conditions also pose a risk of forest fires.

Individuals planning to cool off at beaches or lakes are advised to prepare accordingly and follow all water safety guidelines.
