Russian drone strikes on the southern Ukrainian port city of Odesa overnight resulted in two deaths and at least 17 injuries, according to Ukrainian officials.
Emergency services reported that a drone impacted a residential building, damaging three floors and trapping residents.
Regional governor Oleh Kiper stated that a married couple was killed in the attack, and three children were among the injured.
Moscow has not yet commented. The Russian Defence Ministry claimed that over 40 Ukrainian drones were intercepted overnight and on Saturday morning over western Russia and Crimea (occupied by Russia).

Civilians killed in drone attacks in the war
Long-range drone strikes have been a prominent feature of the conflict, which is now in its fourth year.
In early June, a clandestine Ukrainian drone operation reportedly destroyed or damaged nearly a third of Moscow’s strategic bomber fleet after drones were smuggled into Russian territory.
Both sides deploy smaller, short-range drones on the battlefield and in areas near the approximately 1,000-kilometer (620-mile) front line.
A UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine report released on Thursday indicated that short-range drone attacks caused at least 395 civilian deaths and 2,635 injuries between February 2022 and April 2025.
The report also stated that almost 90% of these attacks were carried out by Russian armed forces.
According to a June 11 report from the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, more than 13,300 civilians have been killed and approximately 34,700 have been injured in the war.
