    DWL U12 Match Reports 10/06/2025

    Premier Division

Cappry Rovers As vs Milford United (Cappry Win)

Cappry U12 girls put in a strong performance in their Premier match against Milford United, securing an impressive victory at the Finn Valley Centre.

Playing with a strong wind advantage in the first half, Cappry started brightly. Alison Imbuli opened the scoring just four minutes in with a composed finish. Fia McNulty doubled the lead shortly after with a superb strike from a tight angle. The momentum continued as Caitlin Scanlon added a third, capping off a dominant first-half display.

Milford came out with determination in the second half and applied significant pressure. However, Cappry struck again on the breakthrough of Éadáin McMenamin, extending their lead to 4-0. Milford’s persistence paid off midway through the half, pulling one back with a well-taken goal.

Cappry responded strongly, finishing the game in style with three more goals from Alison Imbuli, Klara Lafferty, and Fia McNulty.

A big thank you to Milford United for accommodating the fixture, especially with our girls set to play at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday. Best of luck to them all at Cappry! We are behind you!

Drumbar United 4-0 Finn Valley Gaels

Donegal Women’s U12 League: Drumbar United 4-2 Finn Valley

Our U12 girls welcomed Finn Valley to Drumbar for Round 3 of the U12 Premier Division, and it was Drumbar who got off to a flying start. A superb through ball from Alannah McNulty found Kadi Doherty, who made no mistake in finishing with precision to give Drumbar an early 1-0 lead.

As the match progressed, Finn Valley grew into the game, stringing together some excellent passes and testing the Drumbar defence. Their persistence paid off when they capitalised on a loose ball in the Drumbar box, slotting it home to level the score at 1-1.

Realising the quality of the opposition, Drumbar responded by stepping up their work rate. Soon after, Kadi Doherty was once again released from the Finn Valley backline, and her clinical finish put Drumbar back in the lead at 2-1. Just before the break, Drumbar extended their advantage to 3-1 through Ella Dorrian, who finished a well-executed team move at the back post.

The second half saw a more balanced contest, with both teams continuing to battle for control. However, Drumbar managed to add a fourth goal after a great piece of play down

the left wing. A shot from the left was parried by the Finn Valley keeper, and Kadi Doherty was quickest to react, completing her hat trick to make it 4-1.

Despite the scoreline, Finn Valley refused to give up and continued to press hard for a way back into the game. Their determination saw them pull one back, reducing the deficit to 4-2. However, Drumbar held firm to secure the win and a 4-2 final score.

It was an excellent game of football from both sides, and a huge well done to the Drumbar girls for their outstanding display.

Player of the Match: This week, we have two deserving players. Kadi Doherty, for her well-taken hat trick and relentless work rate, and Alannah McNulty, who covered every blade of grass and made life difficult for Finn Valley with her tireless effort. Both players were instrumental in securing the win for Drumbar.

    Illistrin As 2-1 Dunfanaghy Youths

Illistin and Dunfanaghy battled out a great game in Corry Park on Tuesday night.

Illistrin got out of the traps fast and took the lead when Alanna Bradley found Makenna Doherty, who found her way past her marker to fire home after only 4 minutes. This gave Illistrin some wind in their sail, and they pushed to find a second but were unable to break down a strong defence. Dunfanaghy grew into the game with Isabelle Galbraith and Clara Ward Duffy driving them forward while Makenna Doherty was causing problems at the other end. Dunfanaghy thought they had equalised 5 minutes before the break, only for offside to be called before Ward-Duffy took aim from distance, which resulted in a fantastic Enya Mulkearns save low down to her right.

The 2nd half began with Dunfanaghy looking for the equaliser and got it when a lovely through ball found Galbraith, who made no mistake from inside the box. This lifted Dunfanaghy, and Illistrin had to dig deep and defend well for the remaining 20 minutes.

Dunfanaghy had the next chance when Galbraith was in again but failed to hit the target. The Illistrin back 3 were working well, and Makenna Doherty and Amy Buchanan were dangerous on the break. Ward Duffy fizzed a cross-come-shot across the face of goal before firing a free kick just wide of the mark as the game looked to be ending with a draw before late drama.

The ball made its way to Illistrin striker Beth McShane, who weaved her way through, turning in and out, before firing low into the corner with only minutes to go to win it for Illistrin.

Team performances from both sides, with Galbraith and Ward Duffy standing out for Dunfanaghy and Makenna Doherty and the Illistrin defence led by Amelia McLaughlin on form for Illistrin.

    Thanks to referee Stephen Hegarty

    Keadue Rovers 1-1 Lagan Harps

Keadue welcomed Lagan to Central Park for the 3rd round of games in the Premier Division.

Played in perfect conditions, both teams served up a cracking end to end match for both sets of supporters.

The first 10 minutes of the game were evenly matched, both teams creating opportunities at either end. On 12 minutes, Amanda Caldwell collected a clearance just inside the Keadue half and struck a great shot, which looped over the Keadue defence & goalkeeper to give Lagan the lead. Both teams kept pressing hard to try to find a way through, but both defences and goalkeepers were in fine form.

With a few changes at HT, Keadue picked up the pace in the 2nd half with Elcie Boyle, Lilly Campbell & Jenny Gallagher making a big impact. On 45 minutes, Keadue’s pressure resulted in Katie Gillespie, who was a constant threat down the right, getting in on goal and firing a super low strike to the far bottom corner. It was a frantic last 15 minutes as both teams really went for the victory. Lagan’s Catherine Caldwell & Emily McMahan were a constant threat, but they were well covered by the very reliable Lauren Doogan and Robyn Duffy in the Keadue goal, which had to be in top form to keep them out also.

Keadue rallied late but were unlucky not to snatch a late winner. Sisters Evie & Fia Ham had a chance each but couldn’t find the net. Overall, a draw was a fair result.

Thanks to Lagan for making it a very competitive game, and we wish you well for the rest of the season.

Thanks to Sean O’Donnell for reffing the match.

    Division 1

    Cappry Rovers Bs 0-1 Glenree

A narrow defeat for our girls this evening in a closely fought game, with the only goal coming from a second-half penalty.

Darcie was outstanding once again in goals, making some excellent saves to keep us in the game. The defence stood strong throughout, limiting Glenree to very few clear chances.

It was a real end-to-end battle, and while we didn’t create many opportunities ourselves, the girls gave it everything right to the final whistle.

A great all-round performance. Well done to the whole squad!

    St Catherines 3-2 Letterkenny Rovers

    Kilmacrennan Celtic 0-1 Raphoe Town

Raphoe U12 girls took all the points on their travels to Kilmacrennan after a fairly even contest between the teams. Raphoe were the stronger attacking team in the first half, but Kilmac’s defence kept out the Raphoe attack with good work from Aimee O’Donnell, Sophie Crossan and Mia People’s. Raphoe’s Clodagh Gallagher broke the deadlock five minutes into the second half after good work from the influential Mollie Tinney. Two good chances fell to Aoibhinn Hegarty for Kilmac to equalise, but they went narrowly wide. Well done to Raphoe, who deserved their win, with Kilmac’s young team trying hard and never giving up. Thanks to Rory O’Gorman for refereeing.

    Glenree 2-2 Ballyraine As

Glenree welcomed Ballyraine As to Glenree Park.

Glenree started the game the stronger, piling on the pressure from the first whistle. The first goal came on the 3rd minute after Lilly Friel got on the end of an Erin Caldwell corner. A cracking free kick to the top corner from Erin saw the Glenree girls go 2-0 up on 26 minutes, but the battling Ballyraine didn’t give up and and were awarded on the 28 minutes when Cassie Diffley scored directly from a corner

In the second half, Ballyraine came out fighting, pushing hard for an equaliser but struggled to get passed the Glenree back line led by Ellie Wilkin, ably assisted by Sarah, Darcy & Chloe.

Ballyraine were dangerous with their set piece, but some fine saves from Clarach Walsh, the Glenree number 1, kept the girls ahead, and just when the large home support thought the girls had done enough to win, Cassie Diffley equalised after Glenree failed to clear a corner.

A very entertaining game, and thanks to Kevin O’Donnell for reffing

Kildrum Tigers vs Cappry Rovers Bs (Kildrum Win)

After an entertaining first 10 minutes where both teams had chances, Kildrum took the lead when a quick break involving Haper Lynch Mahon and Aoibhe Brennan occurred the ball found its way to Àine Bovaird, who found the bottom corner of the net from a distance. Five minutes later, Emily Toland found Aine Bovaird again, who sent the ball past the keeper. With two minutes left in the half, Aoibhe Brennan volleyed high into the net from just inside the box. Cappry had two good efforts but were denied by Kildrum keeper Alana Hannigan. Kildrum added to the lead midway through the second half when Evie Gallagher went on a superb run and finished well into the corner. Haper Lynch Mahon rounded off the scoring with a fine effort from distance.

An entertaining game played by two great teams.

Thanks to referee Barry Tourish, and thanks to Cappry for travelling.

    Bonagee United 1-0 Convoy Arsenal

Bonagee welcomed Convoy to a sunny Dry Arch Park. Both teams started well with chances falling both ways. Zoe Kavanagh came closest for Bonagee, and Scarlett Barnett came close for Convoy. Ava Price had the best chance of the half from a long-range free kick, which was well saved by Isla Neeson in the Convoy goal.

The second half was more the same, with both teams trying to make the breakthrough. Bonagee opened the scoring on 36 minutes when Gráinne Kelly done really well to win the ball high up the pitch, her effort was well saved by Neeson, but Sadie Harvey was quickest to pounce on the rebound. Convoy never gave up, with Holly Patton and Emerald Airoboyi creating chances but just couldn’t find the net. Ellie Doherty and Ava Price worked well in the middle for Bonagee, nearly setting up Gráinne Kelly for Bonagee’s second, but Kelly’s effort came off the woodwork.

A great game for the neutrals, and thanks to Paddy McCauley, who was the referee. Bonagee United U12 girls vs Convoy Arsenal

Letterbarrow Celtic vs Ballyraine Harps (Letterbarrow Win)

Considering the monsoon rain we had on Monday, it felt a bit surreal as Letterbarrow Celtic welcomed Ballyraine Harps to Tymeen on a glorious sunny Tuesday afternoon.

Letterbarrow started on the front foot, and a super run through the middle from Clodagh McCarthy hitting the ball perfectly into the back of the net just three minutes into the first half.

After that, Letterbarrow got confidence and a feeling that they could control the game. Confidence was rewarded, and Lauren Quinn scored two great goals to close off the first half 3-0.

The second half was much the same, with Letterbarrow’s goalkeeper Samantha having a quiet evening, with the help of our backs not letting anything past them despite Ballyraine’s best efforts.

The home side seized the initiative, and more goals kept coming with Eabha Conneely, Lauren Quinn grabbing her hattrick, Elsa Callaghan, and just before the whistle went for full time, Harper McGinty played the ball through to Bella Leonard to finish off the scoring.

A special word of praise to the Ballyraine goalkeeper who made a number of great saves throughout the match.

A massive thank you to all the Ballyraine team for the match played in such good spirit and to all that travelled with them the long distance to Tymeen, and best wishes for the rest of your season ahead.

Mulroy Academy vs Illistrin Bs (Mulroy Win)

Mulroy U12 girls played Illistrin B tonight on a lovely evening at Rabs Park in Kerrykeel. Mulroy went one up after 1 minute through Sophie McElwaine. She doubled the lead on 19 minutes before Zara Walsh made it 3 before halftime. A further goal by Sophie and Zara made it 5 before Leah Walshe scored just before the final whistle. Credit to Illistrin, who battled hard.

    DWL U14 Match Reports 13/06/2025

    Premier Division

    Keadue Rovers 0-0 Milford United

Keadue and Milford United Share the Points in U14 Premier Opener

Keadue hosted Milford United on Friday evening for the opening game of the U14 Premier section in perfect conditions and both teams delivered a tough, entertaining battle for a big home crowd.

Milford, missing a few regulars, started well and pushed Keadue back early on without creating many clear chances. As the game settled, Ayva Boyle began to take control in midfield, linking up well with Ella Bonner and Jessica Keys, who were a constant threat down the left. After some great play from Keys, Keadue won a free kick on the edge of the box. From the set piece, the ball fell to Keys again, and her powerful strike smashed off the bar before Milford cleared.

Keadue kept the pressure up in the second half, with Leah Ward solid at the back and Boyle continuing to pull the strings. Milford’s defence stood strong, though, with Orla Murray and Aoife Kilpatrick doing excellent work to keep Keadue at bay.

Chances kept coming Orla Barrett hit the bar from a corner, and Ella Bonner struck the post with a brilliant effort that fell safely into the hands of Milford keeper Megan McGinley, who was outstanding throughout and is set for international duty next week. Keadue pushed for a winner late on but couldn’t find a way through. A strong performance overall, but they’ll be disappointed not to have made the pressure count with more quality in the final third.

Standouts for Keadue included Shauna McGovern, Leah Ward, Ayva Boyle, Ella Bonner and Jessica Keys in the first half. Milford battled hard with McGinley, Kilpatrick and Murray key to securing a well-earned point.

Sean O Donnell kept the game flowing.

Keadue Rovers would like to wish Milfords Megan McGinley and Ava Greer all the best as they go to play international football for Ireland next week.

Keadue Rovers U14 girls vs Milford United

    Bonagee United 2-1 St Catherines

Bonagee left it late to take all 3 points as they hosted St Catherine’s in their first game of the DWL U14 Premier Division.

Bonagee started brightly with chances falling to Ruby Sheridan and Tara McDaid but they were unable to hit the target. St Catherines had chances of their own but Sarah Kelly and Hanna Stolarczyk made some vital challenges. St Catherine’s took the lead 5 minutes before halftime through a good finish by Nicole Fuller. Leila Coyle had a chance to bring the teams level before the break but her effort was saved by the saints keeper.

Bonagee came out in the second half determined to get back into the game. Gráinne Kelly did well to get past her defender and put a cross in but it was cleared by the St Catherines defence. Bonagee drew level on 60 minutes after Alice Harvey pulled the ball back to Reah Robinson on the edge of the box whose effort sailed into the top corner. Bonagee got their

second late on when Robinson drove a low free kick towards goal and it ended up in the back of the net. St Catherines had a few chances to get back on level terms but Kayla Watson and Ava Price did well in defence to clear any danger.

Bonagee came away with all 3 points but St Catherine’s never stopped until the final whistle. Mollie Elliott performed well for St Catherines while Clodagh Gallagher had a great game between the sticks for Bonagee.

Thanks to referee Liam McLaghlin who had a great game in the middle. Bonagee United U14 girls vs St Catherines

    Finn Valley 0-1 Cappry Rovers

Finn valley u14 girls kicked off their first game of the Premier League when they welcomed Capry to the Finn Valley on Friday evening.

This local Derby did not disappoint and was a very tight Battle.

Katie Gallagher scored the only goal of the game when Capry were awarded a free kick in the 1st 10 minutes. In a typical tight battle both teams worked very hard. In a very entertaining game it was Cappry who claimed the points.

    Thanks to referee, Ryan Carlin.

Finn Valley U14 girls vs Cappry Rovers

    Division 1

    Kilmacrennan Celtic 3-1 Letterkenny Rovers

Lurgy Park was in excellent condition after the heavy overnight rain and the big crowd in attendance saw the home team emerge victorious in the end, although the young and enthusiastic Letterkenny team made them work for the win. Kilmacrenan dominated proceedings from the off with Kaytlin Fay, Aynee Mc Mullan, Jorjamae Mc Groarty and Aoibhinn Hegarty all having chances to score but unable to find the target. After 17 minutes Rovers took the lead, Savanna Keys taking advantage of a defensive error to slot home.

However the lead lasted only a few minutes, Kilmacrennan forced a series of corners and from a short corner routine Jorjamae found herself through on goal and she fired high into the net for the equaliser and that’s how the 1st half ended. The home team continued to dominate possession after the break but again failed to hit the target on numerous occasions and when they did Rovers keeper Kerry Wade was equal to their efforts. However their dominance finally told on the hour, a long upfield clearance from keeper Cara sent Aoibhinn racing clear and the in form striker finished calmly into the bottom corner for a deserved goal. Strike partner Hayley Callaghan the rounded several defenders before firing high to the roof of the net on 68 minutes to leave the final score at 3 – 1 to the home team. A battling effort from a young Rovers team for whom Savanna, Aoise Diver and Kerry Wade shone while the home side were well served by Cara Mc Gettigan, Amber Rodgers and Roise Mc Bride alongside the 3 goalscorers. Referee Paul Murphy had an excellent game in the middle.

    Ballyraine Celtic vs Raphoe Town

Gweedore Celtic 3-3 Donegal Town Bs

    Division 2

    Illistrin 2-0 Swilly Rovers
