A woman from Ramelton has admitted guilt in court regarding an incident in Ballybofey where a man was stabbed.
Nadia Blake entered guilty pleas to charges of robbery and producing a screwdriver during an altercation. She was formally arraigned at Letterkenny Circuit Court.
The 26-year-old, with an address at Booragh, Ramelton, spoke only to confirm her guilty pleas before Judge Roderick Maguire.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Navenny Street, Ballybofey, on October 16, 2024.
The robbery charge, brought under Section 14 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001, alleges the theft of a 50-inch television, a Playstation 4 console and controller, and a portable speaker from Stephen Doherty.
Blake also admitted guilt to the charge of producing a screwdriver, considered a weapon capable of causing serious harm, during a dispute, in violation of section 1 of the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act, 1990.
Ms. Fiona Crawford BL, representing the State, confirmed that the pleas were made on the basis of the full facts of the case.
Mr. Simon Gillespie BL, Blake’s barrister instructed by solicitor Mr. Rory O’Brien, stated that his client is 26 years old and has no prior criminal record. He mentioned that Blake has “some ongoing issues” and suggested that a probation report and psychiatric evaluation would be beneficial to the court.
Judge Maguire ordered the preparation of a probation report and approved legal aid for a psychiatric assessment.
The sentencing hearing is scheduled for October.
