    The community mourns the loss of Paddy Joe Coyle, a well-known and respected shopkeeper in Raphoe.

    Paddy Joe was the proud owner of Coyle’s of Raphoe Centre, a thriving business located on the town’s Diamond.

    A poignant message shared on the shop’s social media announced his passing, stating, “It is with great sadness we share the news of Paddy Joe’s passing. He will be sorely missed.”

    Originally from Gortfad, Raphoe, Paddy Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife, Eva, and his sister, Kathleen. He is survived by his loving children: Edward (Raphoe), Marie Hickey (Mullingar), John (London), and Evelyn Coyle (Mullingar); his daughters-in-law and sons-in-law: Samantha, Pat, Dawn, and Declan; his cherished grandchildren: Ciára, Niamh, Fiona, Gráinne, Emma, Éamon, Ultán, and Áine; his dear sisters, Helena Howarth and Ann Foy; and his extended family, neighbours, and many dear friends.

    The family will receive visitors at his late residence in Gortfad, Raphoe, F93XP48, starting at 12:00 pm today, with a Rosary at 9:00 pm. The funeral cortege will depart from his late residence tomorrow morning at 10:30 am – for ‘one last run around the Diamond,’ as Paddy Joe would say – proceeding to St. Eunan’s Church for Requiem Mass at 11:00 am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    In Loving Memory of Paddy Joe Coyle

    It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Paddy Joe Coyle, surrounded by his loving family, at his home in Gortfad, Raphoe, Co Donegal, F93XP48.

    He is deeply mourned by his children Edward (Raphoe), Marie Hickey (Mullingar), John (London), Evelyn Coyle (Mullingar), daughters-in-law and sons-in-law: Samantha, Pat, Dawn and Declan, his treasured grandchildren: Ciára, Niamh, Fiona, Gráinne, Emma, Éamon, Ultán, Áine: his dear sisters Helena Howarth and Ann Foy and all his extended family, neighbours and many dear friends.

    Paddy Joe is predeceased by his beloved wife Eva and sister Kathleen, May they Rest In Peace. 

    A silent thought, a quiet prayer, For a special person in God’s care.

     Funeral Arrangements

    Paddy Joe will repose at his late residence, Gortfad, Raphoe F93XP48 on Wednesday, July 9th, from 12:00 pm, with Rosary at 9:00 pm. The funeral cortege will leave his late residence on Thursday morning at 10:30 am – as Paddy Joe would say, ‘one last run around the Diamond’ to St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe F93 HX20 for 11:00 am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Cancer Care West, c/o any family member or Kelly’s Funeral Directors, Oakfield, Raphoe.
