A man in his 30s has tragically died following a single-vehicle collision in County Offaly overnight.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which occurred at Ballina Cross, Annaharvey, Tullamore, at approximately 11:50 PM last night.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle and aged in his 30s, suffered fatal injuries.
There were no other reported injuries.
The deceased’s body has been taken to the mortuary at Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, for a post-mortem examination.
The R420 between Geashill and Cloncollig Roundabout, Tullamore, is currently closed to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
They are also requesting that any drivers with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area between approximately 11:40 PM and midnight make this footage available to investigators.
