The family of Natalie and Ella McLaughlin, who tragically passed away in a collision earlier this month, have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the community for the outpouring of support and kindness during their time of mourning.
Nearly a month has passed since the devastating accident in Glentogher on July 2nd, which claimed the lives of Natalie, a 27-year-old nurse from Carndonagh, and her 6-year-old daughter, Ella.
Only two occupants of the vehicle survived the two-vehicle collision: Natalie’s partner, Tyrone Irwin, who is still recovering from his injuries in hospital, and their 18-month-old daughter, Rhea-Rose.
Natalie’s parents, Joanne and Danny, along with the entire family, have released a statement acknowledging the immense support and condolences they have received.
“We are overwhelmed by the support, generosity and kindness from the entire community,” they said.
“We would like to thank all the Emergency services, staff at Altnagelvin Hospital Derry, the Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast and Letterkenny University Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion they showed our beautiful girls.”
“Thank you to Father Con McLaughlin for the support and prayers following the accident as well as the funeral alongside Father O’ Doherty and all who assisted in the funeral mass and to Joanne, Helen and Hugh for their beautiful music.”
“Thank you to the many friends, family and businesses in our lovely community who supplied food, made tea, traffic control and everyone who did guards of honour and those who helped in any way.”
“We are so grateful to Carndonagh Community school for opening their carpark for us to use during the wake and the caretakers for all their support.”
“To Eamonn McLaughlin Funeral Director and Liam Collins, as we have expressed so many times before to you, there are not enough kind words that we could give to you, the professionalism, empathy, respect and thoughtfulness you showed our family, your special attention to our girls is something we will never forget. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you have done.”
“As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as a token of our sincere appreciation.”
