A man has admitted guilt to assaulting another individual and brandishing a large kitchen knife during an altercation.
Abdijibar Burhan Mohamud entered a guilty plea at Letterkenny Circuit Court regarding two charges stemming from an incident that occurred at Mount Southwell in Letterkenny on January 4th, 2025.
Mohamud, 26, pleaded guilty to a Section 3 assault and to producing a weapon, specifically a large kitchen knife, during the dispute.
Mohamud, of Market House, Letterkenny, confirmed his guilty plea to the charges.
His barrister, Sean McGee, BL, stated that his client is a Somalian national who emigrated at the age of 14 and has no prior criminal record.
Mr. McGee noted that his client has been in custody since January and requested a Probation and Welfare report.
Judge John Aylmer postponed the case until the July sessions, anticipating the report’s availability by then.
