Charles Dooher, 26, sustained life-changing injuries after being attacked by five masked men at his home on the Coneyburrow Road in Lifford on January 20th.
The victim and his father, Charles Snr, were repeatedly beaten by the assailants at their home at 10am on January 20th.
Charles Dooher senior, in his 60s, received treatment for less severe injuries at Letterkenny University Hospital.
Charles Dooher Jnr was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, and received intensive care treatment for several weeks.
The young farmer underwent a number of operations and had a protective plate fitted to his head.
His family, including his girlfriend Charlotte Gallen, maintained a bedside vigil, praying for his recovery.
Their prayers were answered, and Charles survived. He recently visited his local GAA club, Naomh Padraig Leifear, to support his teammates.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal to the public for any information or witnesses related to this incident.
Anyone with camera footage, including dash-cam footage, from the Coneyburrow Road in Lifford between 10am and 11am on January 20, is urged to provide this footage to investigating Gardaí.
They are particularly interested in obtaining any camera footage (including dash-cam) of a silver/grey Peugeot 3008 (2009-2013 model) in the Coneyburrow Road area of Lifford between 10am and 11am on January 20. They request that this footage be made available to investigating Gardaí.
