Kazeem Balogun will be sentenced later this year after pleading guilty to drug-related offenses in Letterkenny.

Balogun, whose addresses are listed as Meadowbank, Long Lane, Letterkenny, and Tyrrelstown, Dublin 15, appeared in Letterkenny Circuit Court.

The charges against Balogun include drug-dealing, aiding and abetting a Misuse of Drugs Act offense, and two counts of conspiracy related to money laundering.

Balogun admitted to possessing cannabis with the intention of unlawfully selling or supplying it on August 16, 2021, at Meadowbank, Long Lane, Letterkenny.

The 26-year-old also pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting an offense under the Misuse of Drugs Act, stemming from an incident on October 13, 2021, on Lower Main Street, Letterkenny. In this instance, he allowed someone to travel in a vehicle while possessing cannabis.

Balogun further pleaded guilty to two charges of conspiracy, in violation of section 71 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006.

These charges relate to incidents on December 26 and December 28, 2019, at an unspecified location within the State, where he conspired with another individual to commit money laundering by transferring proceeds of criminal activity through an AIB bank account.

Balogun only spoke to enter his guilty pleas.

Mr. Colm Smyth SC, representing Balogun and instructed by solicitor Mr. Rory O’Brien, informed the court that the defendant has a previous conviction for drug possession from five years ago, as well as several road traffic offenses.

Mr. Smyth requested a probation report, which Judge John Aylmer granted, adjourning the case until October for sentencing.
