A Lough Swilly RNLI crew responded this afternoon to a report of two teenagers experiencing difficulties near Lisfannon.
The alert was triggered shortly after 1 PM when a concerned member of the public observed the teens struggling while paddleboarding just off the coast.
The Malin Head Coastguard Centre dispatched the RNLI team, but they were promptly stood down after the two teenagers successfully returned to shore on their own.
The Lough Swilly RNLI has expressed their gratitude to the individual who made the emergency call and encourages the public to always contact emergency services in similar circumstances.
“Always remember, if you find yourself in danger in or on the water, or if you witness someone else in distress, dial 999 or 112 and request the Coast Guard,” they advised.
