Yesterday afternoon, the Lough Swilly RNLI team successfully rescued six individuals from a small boat experiencing mechanical difficulties.
The rescue operation began shortly before 4 PM on Friday after the Malin Head Coast Guard Centre received a distress call and tasked the RNLI to assist the vessel.
The Lough Swilly lifeboat located the stricken boat just off the coast, in the vicinity of Fahan Marina.
The lifeboat crew established a tow line and brought the boat and its passengers safely back to shore for necessary repairs.
Authorities are reiterating the importance of contacting emergency services. If you encounter difficulties on or near the water, or witness someone in distress, please dial 999 or 112 and request the Coast Guard.
