Gardai and emergency services were quickly alerted to the scene of the road traffic collision, which involved a van and a lorry. The driver of the van, a man in his late 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The driver of the lorry was taken to Sligo University Hospital for assessment. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
