The Static Speed Safety Camera system on the N17 in County Mayo is set to become operational tomorrow. This initiative aims to enhance road safety and reduce speeding incidents along this busy route.
Drivers exceeding the posted speed limit of 100km/h will face prosecution starting immediately after the system goes live. Offenders will be issued a Fixed Charge Notice, which currently includes a €160 fine and an addition of three penalty points to their driving record.
Authorities emphasize that the system has been implemented to promote compliance with speed limits and ensure the safety of all road users. Motorists are urged to adhere to the speed regulations to avoid penalties and contribute to safer travel for everyone on the N17.
