    Leaving and Junior Cert exams begin today for record number of students

    Leaving and Junior Cert exams begin today for record number of students

    State examinations commence today with a record number of students participating.

    This year, 61,726 candidates are registered for the Leaving Certificate, while 4,517 are registered for the Leaving Certificate Applied exams.

    The Junior Cycle exams will see 74,313 candidates taking part.

    The majority of Leaving Certificate students will begin their exams at 9:30am with English Paper 1. Students enrolled in the LCA (Leaving Certificate Applied) and Junior Cycle programmes will also sit their English papers at the same time.
