Killybegs is set for a bustling start to the week, welcoming four cruise ships over three days.

These vessels will bring an estimated 3,551 passengers to the town.

The cruise activity begins on Monday with a double arrival. The ‘Spirit of Adventure’ will dock, carrying approximately 1,467 passengers. Also arriving on Monday is the ‘Hebridean Sky,’ a smaller expedition ship (90.6m) making its inaugural visit to Killybegs, with around 171 passengers.

Tuesday features another first-time caller, the ‘Sylvia Earle.’ This 104m ship is slated to arrive at 12:00 and depart at 18:00, carrying approximately 250 passengers.

On Wednesday, the Oceania Cruises ship ‘Vista’ is expected to arrive with about 1,663 passengers.

Sinbad Marine reports that it will be “all hands on deck” to manage the increased activity.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming all the passengers and crew to Killybegs and trust they will enjoy their visit to Donegal,” the company stated.

Following this busy period, the next cruise ship arrival is scheduled for July 5th.

A total of 25 cruise ships are scheduled to visit Killybegs this summer, with the cruise season spanning from May to September.

Sinbad Marine Services anticipates that up to 20,000 passengers and 10,000 crew members will visit the town during the season.

Killybegs, long known as Ireland’s largest fishing port, is increasingly recognized for its growing role in global cruise tourism, and is now the third busiest passenger ship port in the Republic of Ireland.

Nestled within Donegal’s stunning coastline, Killybegs provides the ideal access point for visitors to explore attractions such as the Slieve League Cliffs, Donegal Castle, Glenveagh National Park, and the many highlights of the Wild Atlantic Way. While guided tours remain popular, many visitors also choose to stay local and experience the town’s unique combination of rich maritime history, scenic landscapes, and the warmth of Irish hospitality.
