The Donegal Women’s Centre expresses sincere gratitude to the Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce and its President, Jimmy Stafford, for choosing the Centre as the beneficiary of this year’s President’s Lunch.

The successful event raised a generous €2,240, thanks to the support of the local business community.

As a registered charity, the Donegal Women’s Centre offers a secure, welcoming, and confidential space for women from all backgrounds. They can access a range of services including counselling, crisis intervention, health and wellbeing programs, sexual health clinics, and personal development opportunities.

This vital donation will enable five women to receive free professional counselling, providing essential support during times of crisis, bereavement, trauma, or mental health challenges. For many, this represents a crucial first step towards recovery and renewed resilience.

Mary Herlihy, Manager of the Donegal Women’s Centre, conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to the Chamber and its members.

She stated, “We are incredibly grateful to Jimmy Stafford and the Letterkenny Chamber team for their unwavering support and belief in the work we do.”

“This significant generosity from the business community means so much to us, and more importantly, to the women who will now have access to free counselling. It’s more than just a donation; it’s a lifeline.”

Jimmy Stafford, President of Letterkenny Chamber, emphasized that the Donegal Women’s Centre provides a crucial service to the community, offering much-needed support to women during challenging times.

He added, “We are proud to support their invaluable work and are delighted that the funds raised at the President’s Lunch will directly benefit women in Donegal.”

“The positive response from local businesses was truly remarkable, demonstrating the business community’s strong commitment to supporting important causes within our community, such as the services offered by the Donegal Women’s Centre.”

The Donegal Women’s Centre continues to assist hundreds of women annually with essential services within a non-judgmental and inclusive environment. Donations like this ensure the Centre’s ongoing ability to offer tangible assistance to those navigating life’s most difficult circumstances.
