Donegal’s representative has been chosen for the 2025 Nose of Tralee competition: Ghost!
After a rigorous selection process with over 1,500 entrants, the top 32 canine contenders have been selected. Public voting begins on July 24th.
Ghost, a one-year-old Border Collie Mix, was rescued as a puppy by Clare Animal Welfare. Despite still being a bit shy, Ghost possesses a vibrant personality that matches his large, fluffy tail.

Ghost is described by his owners as “the sweetest boy” and has fostered a strong bond with his older brother, Casper, after joining their family.
His owners shared in their entry that Ghost has been an incredibly positive addition to their lives.
“Ghost joining our family has boosted Casper’s confidence significantly, helping him overcome and improve his reactive behaviors. Ghost is much more than a handsome pup – he’s a testament to the transformative power of rescue dogs.”
The 2025 Nose of Tralee champion will be announced on August 19th, following a nationwide vote to determine the winner.
The winning dog will receive a hotel stay, a professional photo shoot, pet-sitting vouchers, and various gifts from Irish pet businesses.
