Gardaí are investigating two incidents that occurred in Lifford over the weekend, involving glass bottles being thrown from a moving vehicle at other cars.

The first incident took place at approximately 9:15 PM on Saturday on the N15 (The Haw), on the Castlefin to Lifford road.

According to reports, an oncoming brown Lexus slowed down, and a male occupant threw two glass bottles from the open sunroof at the victim’s vehicle. This resulted in significant damage to the front bumper. The Lexus then proceeded towards Castlefin.

Shortly after, at approximately 9:23 PM, another incident occurred on the Letterkenny Road (N14) as a driver was leaving Lifford. An oncoming dark-colored Lexus IS200 passed, and a beer bottle was thrown from the rear passenger window, striking the driver’s windshield and causing it to crack. Authorities believe these two incidents may be related.

Gardaí are requesting anyone who was traveling on the N14 or N15, or in the vicinity of Lifford town, between 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM on Saturday, June 21st, and who may have dash-cam footage, to provide it to them.

Anyone who witnessed either of these incidents, or who possesses any relevant information, is asked to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny at 074 9167100. Information can also be provided anonymously via the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.
