LARAbEL, an emerging indie-pop sensation, celebrates the launch of her highly anticipated debut EP, Squiggle, today.
LARAbEL is the stage name of Lara Sweeney-Doherty, a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter from Donegal, currently signed to Beo Records, an independent label.
Squiggle, comprised of five compelling tracks, presents a brave and refreshingly genuine exploration of self-expression, creativity, and human connection – with all its peaks and valleys.
LARAbEL masterfully blends infectious melodies with intricate production and deeply personal lyrics, resulting in an EP that is both emotionally resonant and sonically progressive, all while maintaining a core of sincerity.
Speaking about the EP, LARAbEL shares: “All five tracks are deeply personal journeys, akin to reading my diary. I feel a responsibility to be introspective so as not overwhelm others with my burdens, and to prioritize healing and personal growth.”
She continues, “We all carry trauma, often generational, and these patterns will continue unless we actively choose to heal and learn. Healing involves confronting pain, and these songs channel that deep-seated pain; a cathartic release necessary to move forward.”
