A Donegal mother commemorated what would have been her son’s 30th birthday by hosting a Teddy Bear Picnic, offering families a fun day out and raising crucial meningitis awareness.
The heartwarming event took place on Saturday, July 5th, at Letterkenny Town Park.
Naomi Fisher, a dedicated Donegal ambassador for ACT for Meningitis, organized the special day.
Naomi’s son, Reece, tragically passed away from meningitis at just seven and a half months old. To honor his memory, Naomi has tirelessly worked to educate parents about the signs and symptoms of meningitis.
Naomi’s fundraising efforts have garnered tremendous support and awareness for ACT for Meningitis, a charity committed to educating the public on meningitis and providing free support services in Ireland to those affected by the disease.
Representatives from ACT for Meningitis attended the picnic, offering valuable information and advice to families.
Attendees enjoyed a delightful day featuring face painting, storytelling, dancing, treats, and activities for all ages.
Over €2,000 has been generously donated online in memory of Reece’s milestone birthday, with additional donations received on the day. To contribute, please visit: https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/RememberReece
