    From Rory to Bridie, Donegal boasts a rich lineage of notable Gallaghers.

    This Sunday, TG4’s “Sloinne” delves into the history of the Ó Gallachóir/Gallagher clan, uncovering captivating stories of remarkable individuals from the region.

    The series finale, airing on Sunday, June 22nd, focuses on Donegal. Guest John Gallagher, a lecturer from Leeds, UK, journeys from Dublin to his ancestral home in Gaoth Dobhair. His exploration includes a visit to the Rory Gallagher museum in Ballyshannon, an examination of the sporting legacy of Dave Gallagher, the All-Blacks rugby player from Ramelton, and a stop at Bridie Gallagher’s former residence in Creeslough, famed for the song ‘Hills of Donegal’. The episode leaves no stone unturned in tracing the Gallagher family’s history in their homeland.
