Gardaí and event organizers are advising GAA fans travelling to Ballybofey for tomorrow’s All-Ireland Preliminary Quarter-Final against Louth to anticipate traffic delays.

The throw-in is scheduled for 4pm at MacCumhaill Park, but attendees should factor in potentially long delays both to and from the venue. This is partly due to the increased traffic in the county also associated with the Donegal International Rally.

In their official statement, Gardaí stated: “While we will do our best to manage traffic flow, the high number of people attending both this match and the Donegal International Rally will inevitably lead to delays. We strongly recommend adding extra travel time to your journey.”

The following instructions have been provided for supporters driving to the game:

“Several car parks will be available throughout the town. Please make full use of these designated parking areas. We kindly request that all attendees park responsibly.”

“Please refrain from parking in ways that obstruct footpaths, private driveways, or the smooth flow of traffic. Vehicles causing obstructions will be issued fixed charge notices and may be towed. This is to guarantee efficient traffic movement for everyone before and after the match.”

“Access to the car park at the Mac Cumhaill Park main entrance will be restricted to vehicles authorized by Donegal GAA only.”

“Limited parking space for Blue Badge holders is available at the car park near the stand entrance (behind the Villa Rose hotel). Access to this car park is via Back Road at Jackson’s Hotel. Once this area is full, no further vehicle access will be permitted. Limited disabled parking is also available on the Main Street and in car parks near the grounds.”

“Please follow the instructions given by Gardaí, security staff, and stewards in the area. We hope you all have an enjoyable day and wish both teams the best of luck.”
