Eileen Gleeson is set to rejoin the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) in a new role: Head of Football Strategic Insights and Planning.
This marks Gleeson’s return since departing her position as Ireland Women’s National Team manager in December, following the Euro playoff loss to Wales, which also saw assistant Colin Healy leave.
She reportedly had a fallback clause in her contract from her previous position as Head of Women’s and Girls’ Football, allowing for a return. However, the FAI declined to comment on the specific terms, referencing a similar situation with Robbie Keane in 2020.
In her new role, Gleeson will report directly to the FAI’s Chief Operations Officer, Christina Kenny.
