    Dublin pulled off hurling’s biggest shock in 50 years

    Dublin’s chances were considered slim before the match, but the odds lengthened dramatically after Chris Crummey’s sending off on Saturday. One bookmaker briefly offered 66-1 odds on a Dublin victory. It’s safe to say no one took that punt.

    Despite Dublin leading by four points at halftime, bookmakers were still offering even money on Dublin with a nine-point advantage. Even when Dublin held a two-point lead in the final minutes, some bookies still favored Limerick to win. Despite the game’s unfolding events, the bookmakers remained unconvinced of a Dublin win. It seemed almost nobody outside the Dublin camp believed they could pull it off.
