In anticipation of the All-Ireland final, a dedicated Donegal supporter has channeled her passion into a poem to support Jim McGuinness and the team.

Claire Gillespie, a Ballybofey native, embodies the spirit of a true superfan. Her unwavering support sees her travel across Ireland to attend every game and rally behind her county.

To honor the team’s journey, she composed the following verse:

All Ireland Final here we come,

The journey this far has been mighty fun.

They’re the pride and joy of all,

    Our Magnificent Donegal.

Michael Murphy, our King and saviour,

Disciplined, slick and always on best behaviour.

Clifford losing control in the safe hands of McCole.

Eoghán Bán’s keeping O’ Sé perfectly at bay.

Roarty rocking Paudie and Burns with his ferocious tackles and impressive turns.

O’Connor, Geaney, Spillane quaking in their boots

Watching in fear as Gallen, Mogan, Moore ruthlessly shoots.

Well Jack, says Jim, margins may be thin, the fear you have is with good reason,

Donegal have weathered the toughest of games, not just appearing at the end of the season.

Kerry are rightfully tipped with good favour, but this year, my friend, is Donegal’s to savour.
