    Donegal 2-15 v 1-12 Leitrim

Donegal’s Ladies footballers have secured their place in the Senior Championship for another year after a victory over Leitrim this afternoon.

A dominant first half, featuring two goals, proved crucial as Donegal defeated Leitrim in Tubbercurry.

Suzanne White scored Donegal’s opening goal within the first ten minutes.

Despite Leitrim responding with a goal, Jodie McFadden’s goal in the 25th minute extended Donegal’s lead to five points at halftime: 2-07 to 1-05.

Donegal increased their advantage early in the second half, establishing an eleven-point lead as the final quarter approached.

However, Leitrim mounted a comeback, narrowing the gap to five points before being awarded a penalty with under five minutes remaining.

Clare Friel, the Donegal goalkeeper, made a crucial penalty save, halting Leitrim’s momentum. With a few late scores, Donegal sealed the win and guaranteed their senior status for next year’s All-Ireland Championship.
