Embark on your filmmaking journey with award-winning Donegal director Gerard Lough! He’s hosting a two-day filmmaking workshop at the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny on August 5th and 6th, sharing his invaluable experience for the first time.

Gerard Lough’s impressive filmography includes the feature films Spears (2022) and Night People (2015), alongside eight acclaimed short films and thirteen captivating music videos.

Designed specifically for aspiring filmmakers, this workshop will concentrate on the practical steps involved in creating and releasing a professional short film.

Lough emphasizes the importance of short films, stating, “Making a short film before tackling a feature is like learning to walk before you run. The experience gained from a short film prevents you from being overwhelmed by the complexities of a feature. It prepares you for the unique challenges of film production.”

The comprehensive curriculum covers everything from crafting a compelling screenplay to organizing your film’s premiere. You’ll learn practical, essential knowledge to confidently navigate the filmmaking process.

Lough adds, “This workshop dismantles common myths and misconceptions surrounding filmmaking, presenting a clear and accessible understanding of the process.”
