A Cork woman facing over 300 charges related to the alleged theft of more than €70,000 from Fishy Fishy, a well-known Kinsale restaurant owned by TV chef Martin Shanahan, has been remanded on bail. The case was heard at Kinsale District Court, sitting in Bandon.
Sergeant Tom Mulcahy informed the court about a query concerning the book of evidence currently being prepared.
Solicitor Daithí Ó’Donnabhain, representing Nessa Gilsenan, 51, of Copper Beech House, Mellifontstown, Kinsale, agreed on his client’s behalf (who was not in court) to appear again in July.
Judge Joanne Carroll remanded Ms. Gilsenan on continuing bail until July 28 for service of the book of evidence.
Ms. Gilsenan faces 131 charges linked to the alleged theft of over €70,000 from Fishy Fishy restaurant in Kinsale, County Cork.
The charges include more than 100 counts of theft allegedly committed between 2017 and 2022, as well as further charges of alleged false accounting. The alleged thefts involved sums ranging from under €100 to over €1,000.
At a previous hearing, the Director of Public Prosecutions directed that Ms. Gilsenan be returned for trial on indictment.
