A significant milestone is approaching! The Walk to Knock for Mary’s Meals sets off this Thursday, August 7th.

This year’s fundraiser is especially meaningful, as it coincides with the 20th anniversary of Mary’s Meals in Ireland, promising celebrations across the country.

Walker groups will begin their journeys from seven locations across the island, including Malin and Derry, all with the shared goal of providing meals to children awaiting support from Mary’s Meals.

Mary’s Meals is a global initiative providing daily meals to over 2.6 million children in schools across 16 countries where they face the greatest need.

Fr Eamonn Kelly, a Mary’s Meals Board Director and dedicated supporter for the past 15 years, explains his motivation: “I walk for Mary’s Meals because Mary’s Meals allows me to improve the situation rather than just looking at it.”

Through Donegal Mary’s Meals, 2,429,182 children are currently being fed.

Patricia Friel, Executive Director of Mary’s Meals Ireland, emphasizes, “I’m only one small part of the Step By Step to Feed the Next Child Walk. The real heroes are the walkers, collectors, support drivers, those offering food and accommodation, and, of course, everyone who generously donates to our life-changing work. You all are Mary’s Meals, delivering hope.”

With a bit of Irish sunshine and enthusiastic participation, we can collectively make a substantial difference in the lives of these children.

Join the fun! All are invited to participate in a walk at Letterkenny Bernard McGlinchey Town Park on Friday, August 8th, from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. Complete as many laps as you can to help achieve the target of 440 laps – equivalent to the distance from Malin Town to Mayo!
