Get ready for a week of family fun at the 49th annual Burtonport Summer Festival! From July 18th – 26th, the town of Burtonport will be buzzing with music, entertainment, and activities suitable for all ages.
The festival kicks off on Saturday, July 19th with an official opening by Anne Kelly, followed by live music from the Minertones Band.
Enjoy nightly music on the main stage and throughout the day with Busking Corners, featuring performances by Glór Tíre winner Paddy Treacy, The Hopeful Kind, Bula Béag, Chrissy Mac, a Springsteen tribute band, and a lively Ceili Mór!
Don’t miss the free Sunday afternoon country show starting at 3pm, featuring Conor O’Donnell and The Ryan Turner band hosting Patrick Feeney, Hugo Duncan, Saffron Dixon, and Jordon Mc Polin!
For the Younger Ones and Families
Children can enjoy the Children’s Disco and Festival Prince and Princess competition. There’s also an Underage Football Blitz and the adorable Bonny Baby Show. Families can have a blast at the Children’s Beach Day, meet animals at the Pet Show, and take daily sea safaris and island trips. Discover the Astronauts and Aliens adventure on Rutland Island and watch the Festival Parade. Get competitive with the “It’s A Knockout” obstacle games happening on various evenings.
Active and Adventurous Events
Lace up your running shoes for the 5K Road Race or test your speed in the 10K Cycle Time Trial. Football enthusiasts won’t want to miss the Pat Forker Memorial Match between Keadue Rovers and Finn Harps FC.
Culture and Heritage
Delve into local history with guided historical walks and the Magical Mystery History Bus Tour. Immerse yourself in a full Irish Language Day complete with children’s shows, traditional music, and dance.
Traditional Festival Events
Experience the annual Blessing of the Boats, a long-standing and cherished tradition.
The festival also includes a scavenger hunt, a walking treasure hunt, daily 50/50 bingo draws, and a Thank You Tea at Gemma’s Legacy of Hope House on Saturday, July 26th.
