Update 9pm: The collision scene has been cleared.
A collision in the Ardee area is causing major traffic congestion on the M1 northbound this Sunday evening.
The incident took place on the M1 between Junction 11 (Monasterboice) and Junction 12 (Dunleer) around 7:30 PM.
Motorists traveling north, particularly those coming from the All-Ireland Gaelic Football Final, are facing long delays.
