It’s not every day that an eight-time All-Ireland champion makes a surprise visit to a children’s training session. But that’s exactly what happened when Dublin GAA icon Michael Darragh MacAuley unexpectedly joined Na Rossa GAA’s Under 10s training session earlier this week, offering his expertise. MacAuley stopped by the club in Leitir on Thursday evening, and upon seeing the U10 team training, he readily volunteered to share his skills with the young players, drawing from his experience as a former GAA Player of the Year. If you’re longing for a bit of peace and quiet, it’s super-difficult these days to find a place for a family holiday away from the madding crowd, yet with enough activities within reasonable driving distance to keep several generations occupied and amused. We found ourselves in an agricultural area in the southwest of France that I’d never even heard of before called Gers, sometimes Gascony. Apparently, it’s one of, if not the most rural part of France, internationally renowned for its fine gastronomy. How about that for a find! It’s also famous for its many bastides, beautiful fortified medieval towns…
Rescuers were continuing to scour a devastated central Texas landscape of mangled trees, overturned cars and muck-filled debris in an increasingly bleak mission to locate survivors. The flooding in Kerr County killed at least 43 people, including 15 children, and at least eight people died in nearby counties. Among the missing are 27 girls who have not been seen since their camp was hit by a wall of water in a historic flash flood. At least 38 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed in Israeli air strikes, according to hospital officials, as Israel’s military reported striking over 100 targets in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours. These strikes occurred as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prepared to travel to Washington for discussions at the White House, aiming to advance ceasefire initiatives. Separately, an Israeli official stated that the country’s security cabinet approved, on Saturday night, the delivery of aid to northern Gaza, where civilians are facing severe food shortages. Meanwhile, in Yemen, a Houthi rebel spokesperson announced in a pre-recorded message that…
Liverpool forward Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, have tragically passed away following a car accident in Spain on Thursday. Reasoning for changes: The original text implied Jota died along with his brother. While the intended meaning was likely that both passed away, the wording was awkward. The revised version clearly states that both Jota and his brother passed away. It also emphasizes the tragic nature of the event with the word “tragically”. The core meaning and the presence of the HTML tags are maintained. News Source : Irish Examiner
The Dalai Lama celebrated his 90th birthday on Sunday, surrounded by thousands of devoted followers. Devotees gathered in the Himalayan town of Dharamshala, the Dalai Lama’s exile home since he fled Chinese rule in Tibet in 1959. Addressing the large crowd, including hundreds of monks and nuns who endured persistent rain to attend, the Dalai Lama stated, “When I reflect on my life, I realize I haven’t wasted it at all.” “I dedicate my life to serving all sentient beings,” he added.
