At least three people have died and several others are seriously injured following the derailment of a regional passenger train in southern Germany, according to authorities.
Federal and local police are investigating the cause of the crash, which occurred near Riedlingen.
The exact number of injured individuals is currently unclear.
Approximately 100 passengers were on board the train when it derailed, about 98 miles west of Munich.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed his condolences to the victims’ families in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
Deutsche Bahn, Germany’s national railway operator, has been contacted for comment.
