Israeli army radio, citing a military official, reports that Israel will permit foreign countries to parachute aid into Gaza beginning Friday.
A Reuters request for comment from an Israeli military spokesperson did not receive an immediate response.
The Gaza health ministry reports that over 100 people have died from starvation in the Palestinian enclave since Israel initially cut off supplies in March.
While Israel, currently at war with Hamas in Gaza since October 2023, lifted that blockade in May, restrictions remain in place. Israel states these restrictions are necessary to prevent aid diversion to militant groups.
UNICEF treated 5,000 children suffering from acute malnutrition in Gaza during the first two weeks of July.
World Health Organisation chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated on Wednesday that Gaza is experiencing a man-made mass starvation due to the blockade on aid entering the enclave.
