The stage is set for a monumental clash at Croke Park next weekend as Donegal prepares for battle, and a local poet perfectly captures the mood!

Excitement is at fever pitch in Donegal as they reach their first All-Ireland Final in eleven years. Under Jim McGuinness, the team is primed and ready for the challenge.

We extend our thanks to Peter McMonagle for submitting this powerful poem to our Donegal For Sam hub, as we rally to support our team in green and gold.

    2025 Siege of Tír Chonaill

    By Peter McMonagle

Our mighty team are heading south

Besieged by the Aristocrats taunting shouts,

The Kingdom certain they can bag their birthright

However Jimmy has our Fellas fit for the fight,

Our Boys will drive into ya from our arc and the skies

Cause no venue nor journey will keep them from our Prize,

Eleven years late but now Oh so close

And this time we won’t be denied by the Post,

We’ll unleash our young Colts and batter the gate

Till the O’Connors and Cliffords capitulate – BATE,

Seanie’s snarling stares cannot dampen Tir Chonaill’s desire

To bring back to the Hills ……………………the Sam Maguire.
