Time is running out for wildlife enthusiasts hoping to see puffins on Tory Island’s coastline this year.
These beloved birds have graced the island’s cliffs with their presence for the past several months. Soon, they will embark on their annual southward migration.
While a sizable group of puffins remains on the island, they are anticipated to begin their journey by the end of July and early August. They are not expected to return to the island until next spring.
Meanwhile, Inishboffin Island is preparing for some exciting celebrations next weekend!
On Saturday, July 26th, a community art exhibition and a traditional Irish céilí dance will be held in the island’s community hall.
A convenient ferry service will operate from Magheroarty Pier, enabling anyone interested to participate in the festivities.
