A joint fundraising effort between Tory Island and Falcarragh last Saturday successfully raised funds for Brain Tumour Ireland.
The event, organized by the Doohan family, coincided with the annual ‘Markies Match’, an event held in remembrance of Mark Doohan, who tragically passed away at the young age of 24 in 2008.
Donations were collected in memory of both Mark and Maureen Gallagher, a local woman who also succumbed to a brain tumour.
The community’s generosity resulted in an impressive €1,485 being raised on Saturday. All proceeds will be donated directly to Brain Tumour Ireland, supporting vital brain tumour research and providing crucial counselling services to affected families.
