The annual Ballintra to Cashelard Charity Motorbike Run celebrates its 15th year this August Bank Holiday weekend, supporting worthy causes.
Having already raised over €100,000 for various charities, this year’s event will benefit STOP and Sarcoidosis Awareness.
The run commences on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025. Riders can register from 10:30 am at Ballintra Community Centre for a €20 fee. At 12 pm sharp, the motorbike convoy will embark on a picturesque route through County Donegal.
The ride concludes at Whoriskey’s Cashelard around 5:30/6 pm with a BBQ and rock ‘n’ roll entertainment.
Founded 15 years ago with the goal of aiding local volunteers traveling to Africa, the Charity Motorbike Run has a long and impactful history. For its first seven years, the funds raised enabled the team to make annual trips to countries like Uganda and Niger. They provided assistance with construction projects, including schools and hospitals, and delivered essential supplies.
Due to its increasing popularity, organizers decided to continue the Motorbike Run, shifting its focus to supporting local organizations and families in need. Over its 15-year history, the event has successfully raised well over €100,000 for a diverse array of charities and local causes.
The event’s success is attributed to the dedication of its main organizers: Mark Mahon, Wayne McGrath, and Nigel Morrow.
