After 13 years of serving the community, Cois Farraige Cakes, a well-loved bakery in Bunbeg, will cease operations at the end of this month.
The popular bakery was placed on the market in May, with owner Jackie Greene initially hoping to maintain operations until the end of August. However, unexpected events have forced an earlier closure.
Cois Farraige Cakes, located on the main Bunbeg – Derrybeg road, first opened its doors in October 2012 and quickly gained a loyal following for its delicious, freshly made artisan baked goods, breakfasts, and lunches.
In a statement confirming the closure, Jackie said, “I had hoped to keep the bakery open until the end of August, but due to circumstances beyond my control, the bakery will be closing sooner than anticipated. Regrettably, our last day of business will be Saturday, July 26th.”
Customers holding vouchers are urged to redeem them before the final closing date.
“Thank you for all the support over the past 13 years,” Jackie expressed.
