A young father from County Donegal has tragically died after being struck by a car in the United States early this morning.
The man, in his mid-thirties and originally from the east of Donegal, passed away shortly after the incident. The accident occurred in California around 12:45 am local time (7:45 am Irish time).
He was married with two young children and had been residing in the US for several years.
His family in Donegal, well-respected within the county and beyond, have been notified of his passing.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has been contacted for information.
