A large contingent from Donegal is heading to Killarney this weekend for the first round of the Community Games National Finals.

Forty-four young athletes, accompanied by their families, will travel from Donegal on Friday, July 4th and Saturday, July 5th, all hoping to bring home medals.

County Manager Tony McCarry emphasized the inclusivity of the Community Games, stating that it offers something for everyone. “We have a fantastic committee in the County,” he remarked.

Donegal’s Community Games boasts a strong and dedicated team, including Chairman Manus O’Donnell, Secretary Sinead Hagan, and Treasurer Cathal Hagan, marking his 50th year of involvement. Other committee members include President Nancy McNamee, Games Committee members Elaine Hartin, Micheal Logue, Grainne McGuinness, Maura Gallagher, Catriona and Jennifer Hunter, and Laura Kerr. Ann Marie Cannon and Hillary Moore are the Children’s Officers.

Manus O’Donnell and Cathal Hagan jointly extended their best wishes for success and safe journeys to all participants and their supporters.
