Browse beautifully curated selections of pre-loved clothing and accessories for women, men, and children at the ‘Síoraí After Hours’ event. Síoraí was founded by award-winning social enterprise Spraoi agus Spórt and is a key part of their burgeoning Circular Economy Hub.
Lara McLaughlin, the hub’s Sustainability Textile Technician, says, “We want to encourage people to refresh their wardrobes the sustainable way. By re-using fashion, you are reducing waste and supporting the circular economy.”
According to Lara, the Síoraí After Hours event will also provide expert style tips for circular dressing. “Discover the benefits of conscious, community-driven fashion and enjoy great music and good vibes with fellow fashion enthusiasts!”
“We’ve received so many fantastic items that we wanted to showcase them at a special event. We’ll have pre-arranged clothing racks to make browsing easier.”
Attendees will learn more about the advantages of conscious, community-driven fashion. Lara explains that Síoraí is the Irish word for continual or everlasting. “That’s what the circular economy is all about. Reducing what we buy, re-using what we have, and recycling what is discarded creates a more sustainable local environment.”
Lara describes the circular economy as a modern approach to how we use resources. “Its primary aim is to reduce waste and dumping by extending the lifespan and use of materials and products. By choosing pre-loved fashion, we can contribute to this circular economy.”
